Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) has notified the admission for 2009-10, to various institutions under the Society.
The admission to B.Tech Courses at Army Institute of Technology, Pune will be based on the rank in AIEEE 2009 and for MBBS at Army Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi will be based on the merit in the Common Admission Test of Gur Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
For all other courses (BDS/MDS/B.Ed/B.Sc Nursing/BHM/BSc (Fashion and Apparel Design/PG Diploma courses), admission will be based on the merit as assessed in the Written Admission Test (WAT) to be conducted by the Society on different dates.
In respect of the Admission tests conducted by other agencies, the applicants are expected to apply directly as per the requirements of the agency conducting the examination and also apply separately to the Institute under AWES as per their Notification. Unless other wise specified, admission to all courses will be available only to those applicants falling in one of these categories.
(i) Wards of serving Army personnel (ii) Wards of Army Personnel granted/ awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalid medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension. (iii) Wards of Ex- Army personnel who have taken discharge/ release after 10 years of service (iv) Adopted/Step Children and children of remarried widows (a) Adopted Child of Army personnel adopted at least 5 years prior to seeking admission (b) Step children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army. (c) Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of re-marriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission. (v) Eligibility criteria for special cases (a) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex-Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with IN/IAF: Wards of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army dental Corps officers presently serving with the Indian Navy or Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years (b) Eligibility criteria for Children of APS Personnel: (1) Children of APS Personnel classified as Ex-servicemen, as per Government of India, Ministry of Defence Letter No. 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19th July, 89 (2) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years service in Army (3) Children of APS personnel who are directly recruited into APS and of those who, as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS after completing their minimum pensionable service. (vi) Eligibility criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel: The following are eligible (i) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army (ii) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

MBBS: The Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS), Delhi Cantt-10, conducts the MBBS Degree Course, affiliated to the GGS Indraprastha University. There are 100 seats for the course. Applicant should have passed 10+2 with a pass individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Those appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. Selection is based on CET to be conducted by GGS Indraprastha University in two stages with Stage I on 24th May, 2009 and Stage II on 21st June, 2009. Applicants interested in admission to ACMS are to apply for the CET of GGS Indraprastha University, whose admission Brochure will be available in the first week of February 2009 (www.ipu.ac.in). BDS and B.Sc Nursing Courses: For admission to BDS at Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS), ACDS Nagar, Chennapur-CRPF Road, Jai Jawahar Nagar Post, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh-500087, affiliated to the Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijyayawada (www.armycods.in) and the Four-year B.Sc Nursing Courses at Army College of Nursing (ACN), Jalandhar, (www.acn.co.in) affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and located at Military Hospital, Jalandhar Cantt, Nalwar Road, Jalandhar 144005, and Army Institute of Nursing (AIN), Guwahati, (www.ain.ac.in) which is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and located at 151 Base Hospital, C/O 99 APO, applicant should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and should be 17-25 years of age as on 31.12.2009.
At ACDS, of the 40 seats available, 6 seats will be filled up based on EAMCET. 50 seats are available at ACN. At AIN, there are 40 seats for the course and limited seats are available for civilians from North Eastern States, to be selected though the Written Admission Test (WAT). Prospectus of ACDS can be had for Rs.650/- by hand and by Post for Rs.700/- from the College.
The cost of Prospectus for ACN and AIN is Rs.500/- by Registered Post and Rs.450/- by Hand. Candidates have to apply to each institution (ACDS,ACN,AIN) separately if desired to be considered for more than one institution.
Admission to the BDS and B.Sc Nursing Courses will be based on the Combined WAT for ACDS, AIN and ACN to be held on 25th April, 2009 at Pathankot, Jalandhar Cantt, Ambala, Delhi, Ajipur, Jodhpur, Dehradun, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pune, Secunderabad, Bangalore, Kolkota, Guwahati, and Danapur.
The last date for submission of application is 15th March 2009. It can be submitted with late fee till 30th March 2009.

Engineering : Admission to Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Dighi Hills, Alandi Road, Pune- 411015, (www.aitpune.com) affiliated to University of Pune will be based on the rank in the AIEEE 2009 to be held by CBSE on 26th April, 2009.
Applicant should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 50% aggregate marks and should be between 16-21 years of age as on 1.7.2009. Application has to be submitted to AIT also. AIT Prospectus can be obtained for Rs.650/- by Registered Post and for Rs.600/- by hand. Fashion/Design Courses: Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD), C/O ITI ‘B’Area Sheds, Old Madras Road, Dooravani Nagar (PO), Bangalore-560 016, (www.aifdonline.com) conducts 2 year PG Diploma Autonomous courses in Fashion Design and Apparel Merchandising and Logistics management having 20 seats each for which Graduates are eligible.
It also conducts the 3 year B.Sc Fashion and Apparel Design course affiliated to the Bangalore University, having an intake of 60, for which the applicant should have passed the 10+2. Prospectus can be had from the Institute for Rs.550/- by Registered Post and Rs.500/- by hand.
Admission to the B.Sc course will be based on the Written Admission Test (WAT) to be held on 6th May, 2009 and that for PG Diploma Courses will be based on the CAT to be held at Bangalore on 9th May, 2009. The last date for submission of application to AIFD (Degree Course) is 15th March 2009.

B.Ed Programmes: One year full time B.Ed Programmes are available at Army Institute of Education (AIE), New Delhi, Army Centre for Education (ACE), Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) and Army Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Pathankot (Punjab).
For admission to AIE, affiliated to the GGS Indraprastha University Delhi, Graduates except in Commerce with minimum 45% marks in aggregate with age below 35 years as on 1.8.2009 are eligible. ACE, C/O AEC Training College and Centre, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh- 461 881, is affiliated to Barkatullah University, Bhopal and has 60 seats. AIHE, Nalwa Bridge, Vill-Dheera, Jammu-Jalandhar Bye Pass Road, Pathankot, Punjab- 145 001, is affiliated to the GNDU, Amritsar. Graduates or Post Graduates with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate are eligible fro admission to the 100 seats available here. There is no age limit for admission to the course here. Prospectus can be had from the concerned Institutes for Rs.450/- by Registered Post and Rs.400/- by hand. Candidates if desirous of being considered to more than one institution (AIE, ACE, AIHE), should apply to each institution separately. Army wives/War Widows are also eligible.

MDS Course at ACDS: For admission to the MDS Course at ACDS, applicant should have BDS Degree and also permanent registration with any state Dental Council. Seats are available for MDS Prosthodontics (2) Conservative Dentistry (2) and Periodontics (2). Admission to MDS will be based on PG WAT for MDS to be held at Delhi and Secunderabad on 25th April, 2009. Prospectus can be had from the Institute by hand for Rs.650/- and by Post for Rs.700/-.
