Candidates may down load the Application Form accordingly and apply to “ JEE-CELL of NCHMCT at A-34, Sector-62, NODIA ”. The date of Written Test Shall be on 9th May , 2009 (2nd Saturday) 10.00a.m to 1.00p.m. The other details on this issue will be put on web-site on 26-01-2009. National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses of studies that are imparted at the existing 21Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 7 State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management, 7 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT and 6 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the different professional programmes.
The Three- Year (Six Semesters) program is aimed at equipping students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping and providing managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety and Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.
Admission shall be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the All India written test (JEE) to be held from 10 a.m to 1 p.m on May 9th, 2009 (Saturday), at Ahmedabad (Code-51), Bangalore (52), Bhopal (53), Bhubaneswar (54), Chandigarh (55), Chennai (56), Delhi (57), Dehradun (58), Gangtok (59), Goa (60), Gurdaspur (61), Guwahati (62), Gwalior (63), Hyderabad (64), Jammu (65), Jaipur (66), Kolkata (67), Lucknow (68), Mumbai (69), Patna (70), Shimla (71), Srinagar (72) and Thiruvananthapuram (73).
The JEE will consist of a paper of 3 hours duration with 200 marks having questions from (i) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (30 questions) (ii) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30) (iii) General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30) (iv) English Language (80) (v) Aptitude for Service Sector (30). Question Paper will be in English and Hindi (except for English Language). The scheme of valuation is given in the Prospectus.
Minimum Qualification
Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2009 for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the allotted Institute at the time of admission. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission in Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council regarding the eligibility shall be final.
List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students
• Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/ State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
• Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of India Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior
Secondary education.
• H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
• Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.
Age Limit
For candidates from General, OBC and Physically Handicapped categories upper age limit is 22 years as on 1.7. 2009, only those whose date of birth falls on or after July 01,1987 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is 25 years as on 1.7.2009, only those SC / ST candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1984 will be eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for provisional admission.
Result of the Written Test will be announced in the first week of June, 2009.Allotment of Institute shall strictly be in order or merit & rank. No group discussions or personal interviews are involved in this admission process.National Council shall arrange Counseling at State capitals where IHM/ SIHM are located. Details will be displayed /circulated later.

Duly completed Application Form, along with Acknowledgement Card and Admit Cards (in triplicate), should reach ‘JEE CELL, National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, A-34, Sector 62, Noida-201301’ by Registered Post/ Speed Post only, in the Pre-addressed envelope, latest by 8th April, 2009.
Acknowledgement Card and Admit Cards should not be stapled with the Application Form. Application Form should not be folded. Application sent through private courier services will not be accepted. The code and name of the center selected for the written test should be entered in the appropriate boxes given in the envelope. The check list indicated on the envelope should be completed.
