AIPMT 2012 The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), Delhi, would be conducting the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2012. This entrance examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time. During counselling, the eligibility criteria, various documents, etc. of the candidate is verified and Medical/Dental College is allotted to the candidate according to the choice.

The entrance examination consists of:
Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

Final Examination: (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination). The Final Examination would consist of one paper containing 120 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.

Download CBSE AIEEE 2009 Admit Cards, Exams on 26th April

The eighth All India Engineering Entrance Examination for admissions in B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch./B. Planning in various national level institutes like NITs, IIITs, Deemed Universities and government funded institutions and States like Haryana and Uttaranchal will be held on 26th April, 2009 all over India and abroad. The admission cards for appearing in All India Engineering/Architecture Examination, 2009 have already been dispatched and it is expected that all candidates will receive their admission cards latest by 6th April, 2009. In case any of the candidate does not receive his/her admission card, he/she may contact to CBSE immediately to get duplicate admission card. A list of all the candidates and their examination centre has already been displayed on CBSE website. The candidates may check their particulars after punching their application form number or registration number of AIEEE-2009. In a few of the cases, the medium of question paper has been mentioned as Hindi in lieu of English or left blank. It is for information of all such candidates that wherever the medium of question paper has been mentioned as Hindi or left blank, the question paper will be bilingual i.e. Hindi and English; and, therefore, such candidates who have inadvertently mentioned the medium of question paper as Hindi in place of English should not worry. This year 10,00,000 candidates have been registered for AIEEE-2009 and the examination will be conducted on 26th April, 2009 at 1460 centres all over India and abroad. It is the single day largest competitive examination in the world.
The centre material to all the examination centres have already been dispatched and if any of the examination centre does not receive the material latest by 15th April, 2009, they are requested to inform to the HOD(Spl. Exams.), CBSE immediately by fax or mail.

All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE ) 2009 for admission to Engineering and Architecture (including Planning) programmes at the undergraduate level in the country is being conducted by CBSE.

The exam date for All India Engineering Entrance Examination had been announced by CBSE i.e. 26th April 2009.

The sale of application form from the identified branches of Syndicate Banks all over India, identified institutions and Regional Offices of CBSE started from 5th December, 2008 to 5th January, 2009.

The last date for submission of application form was in the Board office is 10th January, 2009 till 5.00 p.m.

The CBSE Notification says "

This entrance examination will be held in two parts viz B.E./B.Tech from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and for B.Arch./B. Planning from 1400 hrs to 1700 hrs. The sale of application form from the identified branches of Syndicate Banks all over India, identified institutions and Regional Offices of CBSE started from 5th December, 2008 to 5th January, 2009. The last date for submission of application form in the Board office was 10th January, 2009 till 5.00 p.m.

CBSE Helpline for 2009 Exams, CBSE Exam Helpline www.cbse.nic.in

With board exams around the corner, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a helpline for students to cater to
their exam related problems. However, keeping in mind that pre-board exams would be under way in majority of schools from this week, the service would be operational from Monday onwards, students are free to make calls and seek help.

According to information, around 20,000 students of classes X and XII would sit in the board examinations from the Tricity. The helpline would assist them on every aspect like giving tips on completing syllabus, sorting out their studying timetable and coping with exam related stress and anxiety.

The helpline would be run in two phases, pre-examination and post-examination period. The service would be operational from 9 am to 12 pm, then from 4 pm to 9 pm. In the post-examination session, stress would be on career counselling of class XII students. Starting from January 15, the helpline would be functional till announcements of results.

Madhu Bahl, national CBSE counsellor and principal of KB DAV School, said, "Students are free to call me on the given numbers and share their problems. Instead of panicking, they should remain focused and follow a disciplined routine. No doubt examinations are important part of education, but they should not be seen as a matter of life and death."

Elaborating on the aspects of the service, CBSE regional officer DR Yadav said, "This facility has been in place for the past many years. The basic aim is to provide a conducive environment for exam preparation and stop untoward incidents from occurring."

Notably, in its latest circular it has sought greater responsibilities from school principals and teachers as far as mental health of students are concerned. The board has asked teachers, principals, counsellors and parents to work in tandem to focus on life skills, with a special focus on exam related stress.

The circular states: "There is a need to reinforce the concept of life-skills with a special focus on adolescents. There should be no need for anxiety, stress or panic. Counsellors, teachers and parents can work together to harmonies the holistic personality of a learner by focusing on the development of life skills such as critical and creative thinking..."

The circular also asserts that students should focus on high order thinking skill and application based questions while preparing for their examinations.

Entrance exam paper, answer key should be disclosed: CIC

NEW DELHI: The question paper for any previous entrance examination and its answer key can now be sought under the RTI Act, CIC has ordered,reversing its

previous directive which exempted disclosure of such information citing "larger public interest". 

Hearing the case of an RTI applicant who sought the question paper of BHU for the PG (MD/MS) medical entrance examination 2008 along with its answer key, Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi said there could be no "sanction of law" for the denial of this information. 

Applicant Mangla Ram Jat was denied information by the University saying that disclosure of the same was not favourable in larger public interest. 

Declining the request, the University also quoted a previous decision of Central Information Commission wherein AIIMS' denial to disclose similar information to an RTI applicant was upheld. 

In a strongly worded decision, Gandhi said that the order of CIC in the AIIMS case, was 'per incuriam' (lack of regard for law or facts) and did not consider the statutory provisions of the Act and should not be taken as a precedent. 

"The Commission is of the view that the aforesaid appeal was decided citing argument of 'public interest' which is not an exemption under the Act," he said. 

"The commission cannot of its own impose exemptions and substitute their own views for those of Parliament.... There is absolutely no ambiguity in the Act and tinkering with it in the name of larger public interest is beyond the adjudicating authorities and will go against the spirit of the Act."
