All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was set-up in November 1945 as a national level Apex Advisory Body to conduct survey on the facilities on technical education and to promote development in the country in a coordinated and integrated manner. And to ensure the same, as stipulated in, the National Policy of Education (1986), AICTE be vested with statutory authority for planning, formulation and maintenance of norms and standards, quality assurance through accreditation, funding in priority areas, monitoring and evaluation, maintaining parity of certification and awards and ensuring coordinated and integrated development and management of technical education in the country.

COMMON MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST (CMAT)- 2012
AICTE is conducting the first National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012  for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE for the year 2012-13. The testing window for computer based test will be open for nine days i.e. from 20th February, 2012 to 28th February, 2012 in 61 cities. The candidates will have option of selecting date and city for appearing in the test.

Indian Navy Artificer Appprentices invites applications from all the students who aspire to make their career in Indian Navy. The recruitment in the world’s fifth largest navy is done on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidate in the Entrance Exam. The exam is usually held twice in a year for which students can apply through the advertisements in Employment News and other leading newspapers.

Eligibility Criteria:

* The nationality of the candidate must be an Indian.
* While applying for the exam, the marital status of the candidate should be unmarried.
* The candidate’s age should be between 15 and 18 years.
* The candidate should have passed the Matriculation examination with minimum of 60% marks as aggregate and must have studied Science and Mathematics.
* Candidate not achieving the above percentage required, must have cleared their 10+2 with minimum of 55% marks with Mathematics and Science as main subjects.

Physical Requirements:

* The height of the candidate should be greater than 150cm.
* The minimum expansion of the chest should be 5cm.
* The weight of the candidate should match proportionally to the height and age.
* The vision of the candidate must be 6/12 (without glasses) and 6/9 and 6/12 (with glasses).
* The candidate should be free from all kind of communicable diseases.

Examination Pattern:

1. All the questions in the examination will be of Multiple Choice Type (MCQ)
2. The questions in the examination will be of Matric level.
3. The test will have to be completed in 75 minutes of time.
4. The medium of the exam will be English and Hindi.
5. Their will be four sections in the exam:

* Science
* Mathematics
* English
* General Knowledge

Selection Procedure:

* All the eligible candidates will have to appear in the written test.
* The short-listed candidate will then have to go for physical test.
* The candidates will be selected on the basis of their collective performance in the above two.

As per G.O.Ms.No.413, Health, Medical & Family Welfare (R2) Department, dated 29-11-2008, seats sanctioned for MD(Homoeo) External courses for the teaching candidates in the subjects of Materia Medica, Organon Philosophy and Repertory for the year 2008-09 shall be filled from among the applicants and who have applied through the commissioner of AYUSH, Hyderabad. The selections shall be done on the basis of merit based on BHMS marks.

The eligible teaching candidates working in the Government Homoeo Medical Colleges in the state shall submit the application form available on the University Website along with necessary certificates including service certificate issued by the commissioner of AYUSH, Hyderabad, to the Registrar, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada through concerned Head of the Department so as to reach on or before 28-01-2009 by 5.00 PM. • Information brochure alongwith the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the select post offices mentioned below only during working hours from 09/02/2009 to 20/02/2009 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
• It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admissions process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.
• Submission of the application form in response to this advertisement will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be
open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.

• For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo with signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
• In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
• Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses of studies that are imparted at the existing 21Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 7 State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management, 7 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT and 6 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the different professional programmes.

The Three- Year (Six Semesters) program is aimed at equipping students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The programme also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skills standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping and providing managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety and Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

The JEE will consist of a paper of 3 hours duration with 200 marks having questions from (i) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude (30 questions) (ii) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30) (iii) General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30) (iv) English Language (80) (v) Aptitude for Service Sector (30). Question Paper will be in English and Hindi (except for English Language). The scheme of valuation is given in the Prospectus.


Minimum Qualification
Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2009 for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the allotted Institute at the time of admission. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission in Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council regarding the eligibility shall be final.

List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students
• Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/ State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
• Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of India Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior
Secondary education.
• H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
• Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.

Age Limit
For candidates from General, OBC and Physically Handicapped categories upper age limit is 22 years as on 1.7. 2009, only those whose date of birth falls on or after July 01,1987 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is 25 years as on 1.7.2009, only those SC / ST candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1984 will be eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for provisional admission.

Result of the Written Test will be announced in the first week of June, 2009.Allotment of Institute shall strictly be in order or merit & rank. No group discussions or personal interviews are involved in this admission process.National Council shall arrange Counseling at State capitals where IHM/ SIHM are located. Category-C : Admission of JRF holders to M.Phil/Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D/Ph.D Programme in Science Schools

Limited number of candidates are admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. programmes who have qualified a National Test entitling them to a JRF in Schools of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer & Systems Sciences, Information Technology and Biotechnology.

Category-D : Part-Time Programmes

An Entrance Examination will be held in Delhi only for admission to Certificate of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu one-year Part-Time Programmes of Study in the School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies, intended for candidates residing in Delhi NCR only. Admission to Diploma of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency will be made on basis of the past academic record of the candidate which will be assessed in accordance with the criteria laid down by the University for selection.

Programme of Study : (i) Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu (ii) Advanced Diploma of Proficiency in Pushto (iii) Diploma of Proficiency in Pushto and Bahasa Indonesia (iv) Certificate of Proficiency in Italian, Mongolian, Pustho, Bahasa Indonesia and Urdu.

Candidates who are due to appear in respective qualifying examination prescribed for eligibility for admission to a particular programme are also eligible to appear for the entrance examination, their admission being subject to the results of the qualifying examination being declared before 14th August, 2009 and their fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed.

Foreign nationals present in India are required to appear in the Entrance Examination subject to their fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for Indian students as indicated under Category ‘A’ above. However, in the event of their selection, they will be considered for admission subject to equivalence of their degrees as per eligibility requirements.

Up to 22.5 per cent (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST) of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively in all programmes of study. 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates having a minimum of 40% disability, in each category (General/SC/ST/OBC). All SC/ST/Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed and/or are appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks. 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer) subject to availability of sufficient infrastructure.

Besides, all candidates who have passed qualifying examination prescribed for admission to the concerned programme of study from the identified backward districts will be eligible for deprivation points. All Kashmiri migrants and wards/widows of certain categories of Defence Personnel will be eligible for deprivation points subject to their submitting a documentary evidence of their status. Details are given in Chapter V of Prospectus. All female candidates are also eligible for deprivation points. Only those candidates will be eligible for deprivation points as stated above who seek admission through Entrance Examination.

There is a different Application Form for each Category i.e. Category ‘A’ and Category ‘D’ (Admission through Entrance Examination), Category ‘B’ (Direct Admission to Ph.D. programmes) and Category ‘C’ (Admission of JRF holders).

For admission through Entrance Examination under Category-A and Certificate of Proficiency (Part-Time Programme) under Category-D, candidates can opt up to a maximum of three Fields of Study in a single Application Form for the same level of Programmes i.e. COP (Part-Time) or B.A. (Hons.) (1st Year) or M.A./M.Sc./MCA or M.Phil/Ph.D.,Pre- Ph.D./Ph.D.,M.Tech./Ph.D.,M.P.H./Ph.D., and are not required to submit separate Application Forms. In case a candidate submits more than one Application Form for the same level of programmes of study, his/her candidature will be rejected. However, this restriction will not apply to candidates who apply for Direct Admission to Ph.D. programme under Category-B, JRF holders to M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. programmes under Category-C and Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Proficiency (Part-Time Programmes) under Category-D. Candidates are required to submit separate Application Form for each Field of Study for admission to B.A. (Hons.) 2nd Year under category A above, Direct Admision to Ph.D. programme under Category-B above, JRF holders to M.Phil/Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. under Category-C above and for Diploma and Advanced Diploma (Part-Time) programmes under Category-D above.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) admissions to the following programmes:

1. M.Sc. (Economics): This is a two-year programme commencing August 2009.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification: B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

Some need based scholarships are available to Masters students as per Institute’s norms. The second year Masters students are eligible to express interest to work as Graduate Assistants and depending upon the availability and norms, might be awarded such assistantships.

2. M.Phil./Ph.D. (Development Studies): These are interdisciplinary programmes commencing August 2009. The duration of M.Phil. programme is two years and that of Ph.D. programme is four years.

Eligibility: Minimum qualification: M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, Environmental Science or Operations Research)/M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./ B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

Stipend: M.Phil./Ph.D. students receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12,000/- in the first two years. Those students, who fulfill the terms and conditions for Ph.D. registration, would receive a monthly stipend of Rs.18,000/- after Ph. D. registration in the third year.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in a written test and an interview. The written test emphasizes general aptitude, analytical ability and mathematical skills. The test will be held on April 26, 2009 at the following centres: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram. The test venue will be notified in the call letter. Based on the performance in the written test, short listed candidates will be called for an interview at IGIDR around the first week of July 2009. a) MBBS degree
b) Full registration either from MCI or any of the state Medical council after completing compulsory rotating internship.
c)Those who will complete the internship before 30th May 2009 and are able to produce the full registration from the MCI or any state Medical council before 30.06.2009.

Candidates who failed more than three times in any examination
Candidates who failed in more than three subjects during the UG course,
Candidates who have obtained their MBBS degree from Medical colleges which are not recognized by MCI

JIPMER traces its origin to 1823 when a medical school called "Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery" was established by French government. In November 1956 the Government of India took over the medical college in the wake of the ‘de facto’ transfer of Pondicherry. The college was upgraded as a Regional Centre and named as Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) on 13th July 1964.

JIPMER which includes a tertiary care referral hospital is under the direct administrative control of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.


JIPMER admits 75 students every year for the MBBS course. Students who are Indian nationals, aged 17 years on or before 1st July and passed Higher Secondary Examination (+2) under 10+2+3 pattern with 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination.
