Madurai Kamaraj University, established in 1966, has 18 Schools comprising 73 Departments. The Directorate of Distance Education of the University has a student strength of about 1.30 lakhs. The University has 109 affiliated Colleges (9 Autonomous) including other approved institutions and 7 evening colleges. There are centres which promote research potential of teachers. Extension activities are carried out through Department of Youth Welfare, NSS, SC/ST cell and Adult Education programmes.

Eligibility
Any Degree from any recognized University.
Work Experience
Teachers serving in recognized schools with a minimum of 2 years school teaching experience in Nursery/Primary/Secondary/Higher secondary/Matriculation Schools in Tamil Nadu recognized by the state / central government.
Selection is based on the performance in an Entrance Examination
Mode of applying
Prospectus and application form can be obtained in person by payment of Rs.500/- in the form of a DD drawn in favour of “The Director, DDE, MKU payable at Madurai” and by post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs.550/- along with a self addressed envelope.
