Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission have to discharge the duties and functions specified in various Articles of the Constitution of India.

The main functions of the Commission are:

Make direct recruitment to State, Subordinate and Ministerial services;
Conduct department examinations for Government Servants and
Advice Government on all matters relating to framing of recruitment rules;
Advice Government on principles to be followed in making appointments and promotions and transfers from one service to another service;
Advice Government on disciplinary matters affecting Government Servants;
Conduct the examinations on behalf of Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for admission to Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehra Dun.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has had a glorious past of 75 years. During 1923, the Lee Commission had recommended setting up of a Central Public Service Commission in India, but it did not give much thought to the need of establishing similar commissions in provinces. It was left largely to the discretion of provincial Governments to recruit and exercise control over their Services, as they thought proper. As a result of the discretionary powers left to provincial Government, the Government of Madras and Punjab proposed to set up their Public Service Commissions.

Tamil Nadu Accounts Officer Recruitment Examination – 2009 Dates & Eligibility Criteria

Instructions:

Candidates can either submit their applications online or through applications obtained from the Commission’s Office/Head Post Offices.


Fees : Rs.155/- (Rs. 125 - Examination Fee + Rs. 30 - Application Fee)


Last date: The candidates can register their particulars online till 5.45 P.M. on 09.02.2009. They will have to generate the printout of the filled-up application form by clicking 'YES, Generate Online Application Form' button, paste one recent passport size photograph, affix the Postal Receipt towards the Examination Fee and Application Fee, affix the signature and send it to the Commission’s Office on or before 11.02.2009 - 5.45 P.M.

Before taking the printout of the Application Form, make sure that both Top and Bottom margins of the print area will have only 3 mm. (This can be adjusted using File->Page Setup option of the browser.).

The candidates who apply online will Superscribe “ONLINE APPLICATION - Accounts Officer Recruitment Examination” on the envelope before despatching to the following address:
