UPSC Civil Services Preliminary 2009 Exam Date, Eligibility
Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) conducts an entrance exam for recruitment of the candidates in various Government jobs. All the candidates interested for any of the prescribed jobs can apply for that by filling the UPSC application form. After clearing the written test (preliminary), the candidate has to appear in interview and final selection list is declared after the commencement of the interview finishes.
Eligibility Criteria:
~ Only the Indian national are eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
~ The age of the candidate should be equal to or more than 21 years.
~ The maximum age limit to apply is 30 years.
~ The candidates under SC/ST category are offered 5years relaxation in maximum age limit.

~ Last date for receipt of completely filled application forms : 5th Jan, 2009
~ Date of commencement of exam : 17th May, 2009

Examination Pattern:
Their will be two rounds in the whole process:
~ In first round, Objective Type exam (Preliminary) will be conducted for all the eligible candidates.
~ This part would consist of 2 papers, which will carry 450 marks as whole.
~ In second round, only those candidates who successfully pass the round one will be considered as eligible.
~ This Main examination would consist of written test and interview.
~ The interview will hold 300 marks.
~ Final selection list will be declared after the commencement of the second round viz. written test and interview.
