Shivamogga is today a leading academic senter Karnataka and features leading institutions in almost all important areas. It is an Ayurvedic College, a science College, several ITIS and a number of academic and technical institutions. Above all, as the jewel in the crown, Shivamogga is the center of Kuvempu University in 1987.
